James Cross,Man Found Dead in Belle Rive Parking Lot; Homicide Investigation Ongoing
BELLE RIVE – A homicide investigation is underway in Jefferson County following the discovery of a deceased man in a Belle Rive parking lot on Sunday morning. Authorities have identified the victim as 47-year-old James D. Cross of Dahlgren.
The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call around 7:10 a.m. reporting an unresponsive individual in the 21800 block of East Bonnie Road. Deputies, sheriff’s detectives, the county coroner, and ISP Crime Scene technicians were dispatched to the scene.
An autopsy conducted Sunday afternoon confirmed that Mr. Cross died as a result of a gunshot wound. Detectives from the Mt. Vernon Police Department have also joined the ongoing investigation.
