Geeesh Joseph,Fatal Truck Crash on I-90 Near Austin Claims One Life

A tragic semi-truck crash early this morning on Interstate 90 in Mower County, just east of Austin, has resulted in a fatality. The Minnesota State Patrol responded to the incident, which was reported around 1:20 a.m.

According to the State Patrol, the semi-truck was traveling westbound on I-90 when it veered off the roadway. The vehicle subsequently rolled onto its side in the median ditch.

The driver, identified as 41-year-old Geeesh Joseph of Kitchener, Ontario, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to St. Mary’s Hospital by Mayo Clinic Ambulance. Sadly, the passenger, 45-year-old Ajish Thomas of London, Ontario, was pronounced dead at the scene. The crash report indicates Mr. Thomas was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the collision.

This incident follows another crash reported on Sunday night along I-90 in southeastern Minnesota. In Winona County, near the Lewiston exit, a driver lost control of their vehicle on icy and snowy conditions, colliding with a guardrail and a concrete median bridge wall.
