Donald Hawck,Fatal Collision Claims Elberton Man’s Life
Elbert County Coroner Chuck Almond has identified the individual who tragically died as a result of a single-vehicle motor vehicle accident. The incident occurred on February 2nd, 2026, at approximately 9:02 AM, near the intersection of Willis Drive and Calhoun Falls Highway in Elberton, Georgia.
Mr. Donald B. Hawck, a 67-year-old resident of Elberton, was pronounced deceased at the scene. A significant number of emergency personnel and agencies responded to the call, including E911, EMS, Elbert County Fire Department, First Responders, the Elbert County Sheriff’s Office, the Georgia State Patrol (GSP), GA DOT, and the Elbert County Coroner’s Office.
The Georgia State Patrol is currently leading the investigation into the circumstances surrounding this fatal collision. Our deepest condolences are extended to the family and friends of Mr. Hawck during this difficult time.
