Marquita Wright, a beloved member of the Oakland City University community, has passed away, leaving behind a profound void on our campus. Her loss is deeply felt by everyone, and we extend our condolences to her family and loved ones.
A visitation will take place on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, from 3:00-6:00 PM, followed by a service at 6:00 PM, officiated by Rev. Randall Blair. This ceremony will provide an opportunity for the community to come together and celebrate Marquita’s life.
For those who wish to attend the service, shuttle transportation will be available from the Student Life Center (SLC) to the funeral home. The first shuttle will depart at 2:55 PM, with subsequent shuttles running every 30 minutes. The final shuttle will leave the SLC at a designated time to ensure all attendees can participate in the service.
Marquita’s passing is a significant loss for our community, and her memory will be cherished by all who knew her. We take comfort in the knowledge that her legacy will continue to inspire and motivate us in the days ahead.
